FitCheck Privacy Policy

FitCheck is a Chrome extension that compares your resume text against the text of a job posting you're viewing, and shows a match score. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and what happens to it.

What FitCheck accesses

• Resume text you paste into the extension. Stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage.local API, so you don't have to re-enter it each time. This data never leaves your device.
• Visible text of the web page you're on, but only when you click "Scan this page & match." This is used solely to compute a match score against your resume text.

What FitCheck does not do

• It does not send any data to a server. FitCheck has no backend — all matching happens locally in your browser.
• It does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
• It does not collect personally identifiable information, financial information, health information, or browsing history.
• It does not monitor clicks, keystrokes, or activity outside of the extension popup itself.

Data retention and deletion

Your saved resume text remains in Chrome's local storage for this extension until you clear it (by removing the text and saving, or by uninstalling the extension, which removes all locally stored data).

Changes to this policy

If FitCheck's functionality changes — for example, adding an account system or a paid tier — this policy will be updated to reflect what data is collected at that time, and the extension's Chrome Web Store data-usage disclosures will be updated to match.
